Design that Makes You Feel at Home
Written by Jon Ellison:
Designers and homeowners build houses to reflect their personalities. It’s comfortable to them, welcoming to guests and everything from the color of the couch to the paint on the walls says something about who they are.
Every expert will tell you that this attention to detail is what makes a good project a great one. That is why the best designers and home decorators will opt for custom draperies every time. There’s nothing like grabbing some “on sale” blinds at Home Depot to really give a home an unfinished look.
Custom Draperies can become the thread that ties the whole room together. They can make windows seem large and inviting. The table runners, placemats, pillows and all the little details begin to work together to create a new feeling. This custom look and feel can’t be purchased at a store or out of a catalog. This requires an expert touch and in-depth experience to draw from. It requires trims to be hand stitched the old fashioned way. This is a trade, a work of love.
R&R Custom Draperies has been putting the finishing touch on new homes or updating older homes for nearly 35 years. It’s an incredibly personal experience working with R&R. Things get kicked off with a two hour in-home consult, and it’s quickly obvious that Ruby Ramsey (owner/designer) is not just choosing fabrics from a catalog. Her mission is to build a relationship with the people who are going to enjoy her hard work every day. Through those friendships she learns little details about the client that can be incorporated into the project. The final result for the homeowner is a completely custom experience that adds value to their home and texture to their lives.
